The Dobra Family!

On May 22, 2004, (Mick) Michael Craig Dobra and Jessica Elizabeth Schultz were united in marriage before our church and family and in the site of God.

"Haven't you read," Jesus replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."
Matthew 19:4-6

In June of 2004, we publicly confessed that we are sinners separated from a Holy God and that we could never be good enough to enter into His presence. We publicly acknowledged that it is only by God's merciful grace and the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ, that we may enter heaven for eternity. It is only by Jesus Christ's resurrection that our hope is secure for eternal life to come. We were baptized by Pastor Jim Powell at Richwoods Christian Church in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Dying to our old lives, and raising to our new lives in Christ!

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9

We dedicate our lives and family as living sacrifices to our Savior and King, Jesus Christ.

As for me and my household, we will serve the LORD!
Joshua 24:14-15

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship.
Romans 12:1

God's Plan for Marriage

1) Leave: the bride and groom shall leave their parents and become independent
2) Cleave: the bride and groom shall be united
3) Become One: the bride and groom, through God's power, will become one

For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
Genesis 2:24

God's Ordained Purpose for Marriage

Before any governments or churches, God ordained the family!

Families are central in Scripture, and it is our belief that families are the key social unit to any nation or culture. Unfortunately, we live in a time that the culture is hostile to the traditional family.

"No dictatorship or godless form of government can tolerate any authority superior to its own, so religion and family are authorities that must be eradicated or, at least, discredited and smothered."

We therefore declare our family sovereign and ordained by God!
We hope to live out our vision and mission to honor and glorify God and to leave a Godly legacy by modeling God's plan and purpose for our marriage and family!

Marriage Should Mirror God's Image

We will strive to mirror God's image in our marriage!

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27

I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
John 17:22-23

Marriage Should Multiply a Godly Legacy

We will strive to multiply a Godly legacy through our children and ministry!

God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
Genesis 1:28

Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.
Psalm 127:3-5

We hope to live out our vision and mission to honor and glorify God and to leave a Godly legacy by mirroring God's image in our marriage, and by multiplying a Godly legacy!
